Send from your own domain

Send outreach as your own person, from a subdomain you control, and get every reply back on that same domain. An account owner sets it up in the portal under Settings, then Sending.

What changes

Outreach for your account goes out from your sender, on your subdomain, in place of Insurance Verified's platform sender. Every email carries the footer "Verified by Insurance Verified". Replies land on your subdomain and reach Insurance Verified, which reads them as part of the verification.

What you need

  • A subdomain you control, such as verify.yourcompany.com
  • A sender address on it, such as ops@verify.yourcompany.com
  • Access to add records at your DNS provider
  • The owner role on your Insurance Verified account. Other members see the Sending screen read-only

Adding your domain

  1. Go to Settings, then Sending, and choose Add domain

Enter your subdomain and the sender's name and address, such as Acme Compliance at ops@verify.acme.com.

  2. Add the records shown, at your DNS provider

    Example:

    Type Host Value Purpose
TXT resend._domainkey.verify p=MIGfMA0GCSq... Signs your outbound mail (DKIM)
    MX bounce.verify feedback-smtp.us-east-1.amazonses.com, priority 10 Handles bounces
TXT bounce.verify v=spf1 include:amazonses.com ~all Authorizes the bounce path (SPF)
CNAME rbounce.verify send.forge.rmta.net Routes the bounce path
MX verify inbound-smtp.us-east-1.amazonses.com, priority 10 Receives replies on your subdomain

The exact records are the ones your Sending screen shows you. Publish them at your DNS provider under your own zone.

  3. Choose Check now

Insurance Verified re-checks every record. When each one resolves, the domain reads Verified and outreach goes out as your sender. Until then, outreach goes out from the platform sender.

Removing it

Remove the domain and your account goes back to the platform sender. Your requirement sets, insureds, and history stay as they are. An account holds one sending domain at a time. To change domains, remove the current one and add the new one.

Constraints

Constraint Detail
Your main mail The records apply to the subdomain only. Your root domain's mail keeps working as it does today
Apex domains The Sending screen accepts a subdomain only, such as verify.yourcompany.com. An apex domain returns an error
Sender address The sender must be an address on the subdomain you added
Changing the sender Go to Settings, then Sending, and update the sender's name or address. The domain stays verified
